PLAYING CATCH UP-SEPTEMBER 5, 2012

our baby g turned 4 in september.
he wanted a tractor cake and "fish" for dinner, salmon it was.
cake was a hit, salmon not so much.
we spent the day swooning over him. all of us.
addie just kept reminding him what a big boy he was, because he was now 4.
he was spoiled and excited to finally be a big kid.

My kids birthdays are always hard days for me, as they are for most mothers.  I always cry. always.  Gavin, my first son is special in his own little way.  i say it every year and i always will, his birth made both dave and i open our eyes to how blessed we are.  it was scary, full of emotion, and the love i felt when i finally held my baby, was consuming in a way i never thought possible.  this little boy, our tiny little man has grown into his own.  his personality, although sensitive is very contagious.  he teases, yes, teases better then most grown men.  he will sit and say hi to strangers if we are at a restaurant, grocery store, anywhere.  he is his daddy with the heart of his mom.  a great little brother, an amazing big brother.  the perfect middle child with all the drama and goodness that brings.  his blanket "chocolate" is still his constant companion.  his sister is his best friend.  he can't pronounce his rs or ls and i am ok with that, completely.  he loves football and his animals and will play for hours and i mean hours by himself if needed. i feel like when your child turns 4 you can no longer call them a baby.  3 they are still a toddler.  4 they are a big kid, Gavin will attest to this.  however, he is my baby, one of the 3. and always will be.
