I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

what was i doing 2 years ago today? i was marveling over the beautiful baby girl that had just entered my world. dave and i had gone to the hospital hours earlier, i was sick. i was dressed in his clothes and shivering because i had a temp of 105 (our thermometer said 99, it apparently needed new batteries). they put the monitor on me and the babies heart rate was 220...scary..very. I was instantly given tylenol and some other mixture of drugs...i was put under a cooling blanket and blood was drawn. we still had 3 and a half weeks left, it couldn't have been time! sometime later an amnio was performed and the contractions started not to long after. a nurse came in and said i need to be delivered, my white blood cell count came back to high...what, really, today? dave was white as a ghost, we were both shocked! they offered the epidural as soon as the medicine was started..umm yes please! we waited, family came and went. my dad and brother arrived about an hour before she was born, only to walk in as the pressure started. after 12 hours of labor, 1 hour of pushing, our sweet curly haired baby girl was born. they whisked her to NICU thanks to a fever of 101..i waited for my epidural to wear off and watched the news. the boys followed the baby and after daddy got to hold and love on her grandpa and uncle rick were next. everyone was in love, she was amazing. 5 hours later i got to see my baby, she was so little and i was instantly shocked by the love i had for her.
over the first year of her life she helped her mommy in ways she will never know. she was such an angel from day one and still is. she welcomed a baby brother with open arms and loved him even though he was on her territory. she walked sooner than we all thought possible. she kept up with all the boys in her life and she wrapped family and friends around her little finger. the second year of her life has been about the same. still pretty welcoming to the baby brother, however, she has her days when the shadow become annoying. she is becoming such a little person with a love of books, outside, and elmo. she hates eating and yet she doesn't look it. she keeps us sain in this crazy world or crazy in this sain world....depends on the day. she was surprise from the start of her existence and she has kept that trend going throughout the last two years. she has her mommy's love of shoes and clothes and her daddy's love of the outdoors.
she is a pretty great kid and i can't imagine our lives with out her! we love you AEW..happy 2nd birthday angel!
